Many of our patients are able to travel out of the country to see family or for adventure. We want to be sure that their experience is a healthy one, and for that reason we strongly recommend that you schedule a visit with us preferably 6 weeks prior to the planned date of departure. This way, we can go over important preventative information with you and provide protective immunizations that are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. In addition, we have subscribed to a program for doctors called Tropimed that allows us to tailor the information specifically to your child and his or her destination. We are able to obtain most vaccines your child will need (other than for yellow fever, which the government allows only specified sites to administer), and we are able to help you to decide on the best malarial prevention for your child.
